Second Wind Race Timing is proud to add RaceJoy to our service offerings.  RaceJoy is a product from RunSignUp that delivers real-time interactive experiences for participants, spectators, and race operations. RaceJoy is a mobile app with more than 1,000,000 downloads and is designed specifically for running, cycling and triathlon events.

RaceJoy can be used for events with defined course paths or virtual race anywhere types of events. Key features of RaceJoy include GPS phone tracking, cheer sending, progress alerts at every mile (without timing equipment), and automated results. Participants must carry their phone in order to experience RaceJoy’s features.

RaceJoy is only available via a timing company that has been certified to utilize the product.  Second Wind Race Timing has completed RunSignUp’s Certification program and are happy to assist you with your RaceJoy needs.

RaceJoy is an optional service which can be utilized for live athlete tracking, or for virtual event participants.

Runners that want to participate must carry their phones during the race.  Additionally, they must have the RaceJoy app installed and active on their phone during the event.  Runners will receive audio alerts throughout the course alerting them to their elapsed time, pace, and estimated finish, as well as points of interest or sponsor information.

Spectators can then track participating runners via the same RaceJoy app.  They must have downloaded the app and added the runner to their list of runners to track. They will receive progress alerts, as well as be able to see their position provided by the GPS on the runner’s phone.  They can also send auditory cheers to the athlete(s) they are tracking via the app.

Race Operations can utilize the RaceJoy desktop interface during in-person events to monitor the progress of the race, identify trouble spots, and off-course runners.

Virtual events can take advantage of the RaceJoy app by requiring their participants utilize the app while they race their virtual course. A specific course can be set for runners to utilize during the submission period, or the event can be set-up as a race anywhere format.  Once they complete the distance or course required, they will be added to the event’s results.

Interested in adding RaceJoy to your event?

If RaceJoy is of interest to you, please contact us to discuss your event details and how RaceJoy may fit into those plans.

If you want to utilize the RaceJoy app for your event, we highly recommend utilizing RunSignUp as your registration platform.  If you have already committed your event to another registration service, we can still implement RaceJoy for you, of course.
